About
Robyn Jaffe
My passion is to help you explore your inner being for healing through Art Therapy and Transpersonal Counselling. My work is guided by a deep understanding of Buddhist philosophy and 40 years of practice. I am trained in healing practices that are restorative and bring about balance to the body and mind. In a gentle and nurturing space, I can hold the space for you to journey into States of Consciousness through using specific Art Therapy and Transpersonal Counselling processes. These are accessed through relaxation and guided imagery meditation followed by a creative expression. You will be guided to an awakening to your own beauty, perfection, balance and maturity through a reconnection to your inner wisdom.
How I Can Help You:
Transpersonal Art Therapy and Counselling is a holistic approach that addresses the mind, body and spirit. Through gentle meditation and guided visualisations, it helps you connect with your inner wisdom and find solutions from within.
The therapy incorporates various creative art processes like painting, drawing, clay work, collage, and journaling to identify strengths, opportunities for growth, and relaxation techniques. No prior art experience is required.
Expressing feelings through creative processes can be especially beneficial when words fail to convey emotions effectively, and can be suitable for people of all ages.
Specific Areas of Help
Anxiety: I can assist you by focusing on your strengths, using guided visualisations, and introducing relaxation techniques like meditation and breathwork through gentle art processes.
Depression: We can explore triggers, use creative processes to examine recent events contributing to low mood, and consider connections between your experiences and personal growth.
Grief: During times of loss, I offer a safe space to express feelings through creative means, discuss your loss in a supportive way, and introduce healing rituals to work through grief.
Trauma: Gentle processes can help build resilience, provide clarity and insight, and introduce simple relaxation and breathing techniques.
Life Transitions: Whether due to illness, family changes or retirement, creative processes can help make sense of feelings, support healing and draw on your own life experience and resources.
Transpersonal Art Therapy for Children: Benefits and Approach
Transpersonal Art Therapy is a powerful way to encourage artistic expression using visual arts like drawing, painting, collage, clay modelling and mandalas. It can work with children one-to-one or in small groups, using art to build resilience, explore emotions, reduce anxiety and boost self-esteem.
This approach combines mindfulness, creative exploration and gentle reflection. It gives children a safe and supportive space to express thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to put into words.
Benefits of Transpersonal Art Therapy for Children
Self-Expression: Art provides a non-verbal outlet for children to communicate their feelings and thoughts in a safe and creative way.
Emotional Release: Art enables children to release pent-up emotions and stress, helping them cope with challenging situations and regulate feelings.
Self-Awareness: Creative exploration promotes self-awareness and insight, helping children understand their thoughts, emotions and experiences.
Coping Skills: Art therapy teaches healthy ways to manage stress and difficult emotions, supporting resilience through creativity.
Empowerment: Creating art and witnessing progress can enhance self-esteem and confidence, contributing positively to overall wellbeing.
Problem-Solving: Art therapy encourages creative thinking and problem-solving skills that can extend into other areas of life.
Social Skills: Group sessions foster interaction and help develop communication, empathy and cooperation.
Mindfulness: Creative practices help children stay present in the moment and can be combined with simple meditation and relaxation techniques.
Emotional Regulation: Art therapy assists children in understanding and managing strong emotions, especially during times of stress or change.
Trauma Processing: Art can provide a gentle and supported way for children to explore difficult experiences and begin healing.
Academic Improvement: Engagement in art can support concentration, focus and problem-solving, which may benefit school learning.
Cultural Exploration: Art therapy can include meaningful cultural themes, helping children connect with identity and heritage.
Each child is unique, so the process is adapted to suit individual needs, temperament and circumstances.
